My son who is 15 months old now whom was just so funny! He is such an imitator. I guess, all the kids love to imitate but being a new mom to experienced the toddler development could be very exciting for me. I noticed a couple of weeks ago, that every time, we made some facial expression, sounds, phonemes and more, he will try to do the same...and sometimes my husband always called me, "baby" he will also do the same and call me baby ehheehe! It was funny, but I guess, I need to tell my hubby to call me "mama" instead because there's a little imitator around the corner who is so observant and curious about a lot of things! Well, he's just getting so big!
Well, he's doing good, he was still so picky with food. And recently, he's not eating so well due to teething, he got lots of teeth now! yup! Oh well....
Each year, approximately 2.4 million people— more than half under age 6—swallow or have contact with a poisonous substance. Here are some important tips on poisoning prevention and treatment from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). To poison proof your home:
Most poisonings occur when parents or caregivers are home but not paying attention. The most dangerous potential poisons are medicines, cleaning products, antifreeze, windshield wiper fluid, pesticides, furniture polish, gasoline, kerosene, and lamp oil. Be especially vigilant when there is a change in routine. Holidays, visits to and from grandparents' homes, and other special events may bring greater risk of poisoning if the usual safeguards are defeated or not in place.
• Store medicine, cleaners, paints/varnishes, and pesticides in their original packaging in locked cabinets or containers, out of sight and reach of children.
• Install a safety latch—that locks when you close the door—on child-accessible cabinets containing harmful products.
• Purchase and keep all medicines in containers with safety caps. Discard unused medication.
• Never refer to medicine as "candy" or another appealing name.
• Check the label each time you give a child medicine to ensure proper dosage.
• Never place poisonous products in food or drink containers.
• Keep coal, wood, or kerosene stoves in safe working order.
• Maintain working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
Treatment
If your child is unconscious, not breathing, or having convulsions or seizures due to poison contact or ingestion, call 911 or your local emergency number immediately. If your child has come in contact with poison, and has mild or no symptoms, call your poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.
Different types and methods of poisoning require different, immediate treatment:
• Swallowed poison: Remove the item from the child, and have the child spit out any remaining substance. Do not make your child vomit. Do not use syrup of ipecac.
• Skin poison: Remove the child's clothes and rinse the skin with lukewarm water for at least 15 minutes.
• Eye poison: Flush the child's eye by holding the eyelid open and pouring a steady stream of room temperature water into the inner corner.
• Poisonous fumes: Take the child outside or into fresh air immediately. If the child has stopped breathing, start cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and do not stop until the child breathes on his or her own, or until someone can take over.
Being a mom and a wife at the same time is quite a little bit stressful, mostly I was occupied with the things that was not merely all about myself but for my husband and for my son. Well, I missed posting some new topic to discussed on my blog here since I am so busy taking good care of some important things for my birthday which took place yesterday. The party starts at 5:30 pm yesterday and it lasted for couple of hours, probably arounf 9 pm but some of my in laws stays for a while and we had some chit chats and some laughter as well, it was a nice one, I really enjoyed my celebration last night. And, of course, taking care of my son is one thing, while cooking and preparing everything, I need to look out for him as well. So glad hubby was very supportive and always helping me out, instead he's the one who watched our kids and took care of him while I was busy preparing...Well, I didn't know that during those times, my husband and our son were at the computer doing something, they made a birthday greeting cards, well, my husband was the one who made them but he made two, from him and from our son Josh. Well, here's the greeting cards! Even though they were simple cards but I loved them since they were came from my most beloved boys!
My son just turned 15 month old today. Well, he has been getting so big and had been developing very well, well not with the food since he still have been so picky and doesn't want to eat sometimes, just milk and juice and water. Well, probably because he has been teething...Well, he just learning new words now, he talks a lot too, though you couldn't apprehend what he was talking about yet but he was! lol! Well, I just sometimes talk about him and though, I could understand what he said, so hubby and I were thinking of making his phonemes to be a word...well, I guess that would work out! And just yesterday, He said Mama finally! Sometimes, he just said mamamamam which is not really touching, but just yesterday, he finally said, "mama" what a wonderful word and song to my ears! Lol! Sounds corny, ricey but whatever, I am just happy hearing my son calling me, "Mama" after 15 months! lol!
Now, he loves being outside, he loves strolling, rolling over lol! I know he is too old to roll over now but he loves it. Running around the house, and to watch some cars outside since we live by the street road so, he can always see some cars passing by...He is just an active, funny boy too! I am enjoying him more and more! Everyday, I should say...
